I love this stage. He’s just super funny and cute. He’s really into giving kisses and will walk up to me or Tim and say “A kiss?” and then give a big ole’ slobbering kiss on the cheek. It basically melts my heart. I want to remember that forever, especially when he’s a surly 15 year old.
He must be going through some kind of language explosion because it seems like he adds 2-3 new words to his vocabulary every day. He definitely understands more than he can say, too. And he’s started putting words together into short sentences, like “Where Daddy?” and “I want Daddy” (He’s really into Daddy, too — trying not to get my feelings hurt!)
When we sing “Jesus Loves Me” he will point to himself. 🙂 So cute.
Words Sam Can and Does Say at Not Quiet 17 months Old:
side (as in outside)
getcha getcha getcha (“gee gee gee”)
Noah (We got some pictures of his big cousin Noah in the mail and he carried them around saying “Woah! Woah!”)
He also occasionally says “please” and “thank you” but I didn’t include them because it’s not consistent. “More! More!” “Sam, can you say “more, please”? “More!!” Sigh. We’re working on it.
He’s starting to understand and use possessives. We have a game we play while nursing where he points to different body parts on himself or me and I’ll say “Sam’s nose” or “Mama’s nose.” etc. Yesterday he came off and pointed to me and said “Sam’s mama!”
He’s cute. He’s seriously one of the greatest gifts I have ever been given.
Here he is with his Papaw and wearing Papaw’s hat. 🙂
